David McLeese is the founder and managing partner of First Capital Partners. He has more than 28 years of lending and investing experience throughout all layers of the corporate capital structure, including commercial lending, leveraged finance, subordinated (mezzanine) debt, venture capital and private equity.

Prior to founding First Capital Partners in 2006, David was a partner at Odin Capital Group, an Omaha-based venture capital firm. Previously, he was a managing director at Bank of America in Chicago in its leveraged finance group, where he led leveraged senior debt financings to support mergers and acquisitions and recapitalizations for private equity firms and corporations. Prior to joining Bank of America, David was a vice president at Citicorp (now Citigroup) in Chicago, where he joined its Leveraged Capital Group in 1987 and helped finance numerous leveraged buyouts for private equity firms. David was also part of Citicorp’s High Yield Group, where he originated and placed subordinated debt. He began his career in 1981 as a credit analyst at the National Bank of Commerce in Lincoln, Nebraska.

David received a B.S. in business administration from Nebraska Wesleyan University and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago.
